Reporting to the Program Manager, Statistical Analysis and Data Management, is responsible for the extraction, compilation, analysis and application of statistical data to Waste Management programs and services including analysing and compiling waste tonnage information, financial and statistical data; writing Branch reports; reporting performance data; designing and developing complex spreadsheet and database applications; and developing service profiles.
•Develops and maintains the Waste Management program’s databases and tonnage tracking excel files.
•Generates specialized ongoing reports including system performance and reconciliation of waste tonnages throughout waste management system.
•Develops query structures to extract, load, and transform data and tonnage tracking sheets, to report on system, depot, program and business performances.
•Provides statistical analysis and data indicating the impact of data trends on Waste Management programs and services and recommending appropriate service delivery strategies to address and/or mitigate the impacts.
•Prepares reports identifying priorities for Waste Management services based on the analysis and application of service data from Branch databases and a variety of sources.
•Coordinates the preparation of comprehensive statistical and demographic reports for the Branch’s research, policy, program and services activities.
•Designs and revises database and spreadsheet applications, for the purpose of collecting, manipulating and analyzing statistical data such as Waste Management tonnages, financial and statistical service data.
•Researches data failures and recovery strategies.
•Responds to inquiries and resolves concerns, as appropriate.
•Ensures that services provided meet Regional customer service standards.
•Successful completion of a University Degree in Planning or Business Administration or related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in statistical data analysis, including statistical capture and demonstrated experience in related database and spreadsheet applications.
•Sound knowledge of applicable Waste Management programs, policies, services and technology.
•Knowledge of municipal government practices.
•Knowledge and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer focus, communication, collaboration and personal ownership.
