Reporting to the Supervisor, Transit Scheduling, is responsible for extracting, evaluating, analyzing and researching data generated from the various components of the Transit Management Systems (TMS) and preparing statistical and narrative reports; collecting, analyzing, interpreting, summarizing, creating, and maintaining, statistical and operational data files to support systems software configurations; reporting performance and providing recommendation of service improvement.
•Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Sciences or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Minimum three (3) years of demonstrated hands-on experience extracting, analyzing, and reporting technical data generated from information systems, including creating and maintaining data files to support software configurations; and experience using Windows Servers and workstations.
•Knowledge of data, internet, and networking technologies, with demonstrated experience using Crystal and SQL Reports.
•Knowledge of applicable Transit programs and services.
•Demonstrated ability to set up detailed reports, business plans, tables and spreadsheets.
•Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer service, communication, team work, initiative/self-management, accountability, flexibility and adaptability.
•Utilization and in-depth knowledge of statistical concepts in the development of data collection instruments and methods.
•Demonstrated skill in establishing, maintaining and producing complex databases/spread sheets, including current experience with database design, report generation and modifications.
•Computer literacy utilizing MS Office software applications and GIS software such as ArcMap.
•Ability to analyze and resolve technical problems and to assess application technology and end user needs.
•Ability to support and maintain client software applications including troubleshooting and training of others.
•Ability to work shift work and work outside regular business hours, as required.
•Ability to be on call during weekends and statutory holidays to support critical Transit applications, as required.
•Ability to attend at off-site locations in a timely and efficient manner, as required.
