Reporting to the Program Manager, Digital Communications, is responsible for and is the primary contact for providing advice and guidance for web and intranet; provides support for corporate led digital initiatives; manages day-to-day monitoring, measurement and publishing related to corporate internet and intranet content and activity; provides guidance and support to all Regional departments to ensure web content remains accurate, timely and meets policies, standards and legislation; provides support in the development and implementation of corporate strategy and governance related to digital programs and initiatives, including web, social media, and branding support, as required.
•Responsible for the oversight of the Region’s corporate website and intranet as it relates to overall design, navigation, functionality content, linkage requirements and overall usability, with the support of IT Services, as required.
•Identifies potential and future implementation of technologies such as e-Commerce, online registration, etc. to support the organizations web presence, in partnership with IT Services.
•Provides advice and expertise to management and staff on the effective presentation of web/intranet content; assesses information needs; develops and presents concepts.
•Identifies and supports the development of corporate communications efficiencies, support systems, controls, directives and improvements to maintain and enhance the Region’s presence and to ensure stakeholder communication across the departments is aligned and effective, including corporate communication management systems; corporate-led initiatives; corporate wide publications and communication plans, supporting the Region’s brand and management.
•Participates in inter-departmental and inter-municipal committees and projects.
•Leads and provides advice and support to staff members within and across the departments on digital and web related matters.
•Ensures information, links and business services on the website and intranet are timely, accurate and accessible; reconfigures the information into a visually interesting, user-friendly accessible format.
•Performs other related duties, as assigned in accordance with Branch and Department objectives.
•Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in Web Development, Communications, Computer Science or related discipline or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in website management, process redesign and communications, including a minimum of three (3) years of digital experience, including experience supporting and managing a corporate brand..
•Strong working knowledge of communications web-related technologies and the World Wide Web Consortium Web Content Accessibility Guidelines; web browsers across multiple platforms, navigational issues and the constraints involved in designing for online media.
•Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation that affects multimedia communications, including Accessibility Legislation.
•Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams producing innovative process designs, and work on multiple projects with overlapping deadlines.
•Knowledge and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer focus, communication, collaboration and personal ownership.
