Position Purpose

Reporting to the Program Manager, ITS, is responsible for leading business improvement initiatives and special project and support working with ITS teams for project planning and deployment of products in the organization; supporting existing systems and the development of improved business processes; researching best practices; developing the information systems strategy and architecture for the client Department to meet business improvement plans and operational needs of the Department; developing business and operational systems for the Department; assisting staff in the delivery of the information systems program and projects; contributing to strategic planning, project coordination and various reporting activities; and providing back-up to other BSA’s for their assigned functional areas.

Qualifications

•Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Minimum three (3) years demonstrated experience with information systems project management.
•Experience in developing business plans and budgets for information systems programs, developing information systems plans and architecture, and relational databases and concepts.
•Experience with the assessment of information technology against Corporate and Departmental needs and making recommendations on solutions that support Corporate strategies.
•Knowledge of the Department’s services and program and general understanding of capital delivery methods.
•Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer service, communication, team work, initiative/self-management and accountability, and flexibility/adaptability.
•Knowledge of systems development life cycle, including trends in the use of current information technology specific to operational applications/business processes and the Region’s current operating environment.
•Leadership skills to manage multiple projects and cross-functional project teams.
•Demonstrated project management skills to apply project management tools and methodologies to assist staff with information systems projects and programs.
•Ability to travel to off-site locations in a timely and efficient manner, as required.
•Ability to work outside normal business hours, as required.

Salary
