Job Description

12 Month Contract

Under the direction of the Senior Systems Analyst/Coordinator, the IT Project Manager is responsible for defining and maintaining project management standards for Information Technology (IT) projects across the organization including leadership to cross-departmental IT projects and teams as well as project portfolio management and reporting from initiation to project close.  Analyzes proposed new business solutions, current and future states of business processes and services as they relate to IT projects and develops requirements for business solutions accordingly. Provides technical subject matter expertise along with hands on support as required.

Job Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Significant demonstrated experience in an IT department or technical environment managing organizationally broad projects with significant complexity, value and risk.
  • Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or Business Analysis (BA), or Project Management training with significant IT experience; Information Technology infrastructure Library (ITIL), Oracle, SQL, Sharepoint certifications would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated technical experience with Oracle, SQL Server, SharePoint, Software Dev and tools including C#, along with strong understanding of web technologies, eCommerce, data/voice networks, Geographic Information Systems, and data analytics.
  • Significant experience gained through direct work experience within an IT Department that includes knowledge of technological trends, business solutions software, IT service delivery, Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC), database and server environments.
  • Significant experience in contract negotiations, procurement procedures, and vendor and contract management. 
  • Demonstrated experience across all stages of complex enterprise information management projects from initiation to closing.
  • Significant experience in using project management tools for planning and implementing projects including MS Project, Excel, Word, project related documentation (including BRD, WBS).  Must be familiar with procurement related processes such as Purchase Orders, RFP, RFI and RFQ processes.
  • Ability to coach, train, and provide work direction to other project staff as well as appraise work outcomes and quality.
  • Effective consulting, negotiation, relationship-building capability with corporate clients and vendors including a strong customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrated excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid Class “G” Driver’s Licence in good standing and reliable vehicle for use on corporate business.
  • Availability to work outside normal business hours, as required.
