Reporting to the Associate Director, International Services and Study Abroad (the “Associate Director”), the Manager, International Services (Davis) is responsible for ensuring excellent services to international students through team leadership and cross-functional coordination. The incumbent is responsible for operational support and process management, with specific oversight of the International Centre at Davis Campus. The incumbent coordinates staff scheduling; sets and maintains customer service standards; serves as a resource to staff at Davis International Centre; and leads in coordinating services with other units at Davis (Student Advisement, Office of the Registrar, Faculties).


Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing day to day operations for the delivery of services to international students at Davis
  • Ensuring implementation of policies and procedures (including changes in legislation or policy), working in consultation with the Associate Director
  • Facilitating/supporting needs of international students; and collaborating with Sheridan Faculties and departments
  • Managing a team of support staff in the delivery of services to international students at Davis. This includes supervision of direct reports and operational management of support staff who work at the International Centre at Davis and report to the Associate Director
  • Ensuring attendance management, performance management and training requirements are met for direct reports ensuring skills and performance of staff are at required levels
  • Providing support to the Financial Budget Analyst (subject matter expert); this includes budget forecasts, variance analysis, problem identification and recommendations
  • Providing project management for the department’s process improvement and productivity initiatives; ensuring objectives of projects are defined, measured and met; Managing project development from initiative to closure; Tracking and reporting on milestones; and is accountable for project results
  • Other related duties as assigned



  • 4 year Bachelor’s degree in International Education, Business Administration, Information Technology or a related field along with 5 years of relevant progressive experience, including project management, supervision and financial acumen or budget experience. Must have experience working in a post-secondary administrative environment.
  • High level of intercultural communication skills; Fluency in a language other than English is required.
  • Demonstrated interest or aptitude in knowledge management, process design and quality assurance.
  • Ability to develop collaborative work processes and effective teams
  • Experience with the administration of senior-level committees (including records management).
  • High level of proficiency with desktop software applications (e.g. MS Excel, SharePoint).
  • Demonstrated ability to learn software applications with available resources (e.g. online help, training videos).
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, diplomacy & tact; Evidence of the use of sound judgement
  • Flexible; able to calmly handle a demanding workload, with changing or conflicting priorities
  • Effective and analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Self-directed, resourceful and displays initiative
  • Excellent organizational skills; Ability to prioritize, multi-task, track multiple projects


The following qualifications are highly desired:

  • Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE), NAFSA, International Educators Training Program (IETP), or other International Education training
  • Training in PeopleSoft Student Administration
  • Quality, Continuous Process Improvement or similar
