POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Reporting to the Manager of Labour Relations, the Labour Relations Coordinator will be a member of the Labour Relations team providing labour relations services in support of the organization’s goals and objectives. The successful candidate will be involved in the preparation of reports and analysis of data, participation in the Staff Planning process, coordination of grievance meetings and follow up/action items, conduct research, evaluation and policy analysis on Labour Relations issues, processing Leave of Absence requests and correspondence as well as additional administrative duties to support the Labour Relations Consultants. This is a busy function with multiple and conflicting priorities. This position, based in Welland, involves travel between the sites of the Hospital

QUALIFICATIONS:
o University degree or College diploma related to Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or Labour Relations.
o Demonstrated progress towards a CHRP designation.
o A minimum of two years’ experience in Human Resources. Labour Relations experience is an asset.
o Knowledge of employment related legislation and current employment practices.
o Demonstrated ability to interpret Collective Agreement language
o Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective presentation skills, proven conflict resolution and negotiation skills, along with a strong work ethic.
o Committed to continuous learning (internal and external to the organization).
o Proficient computer skills including a proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs.
o Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
o Evidence of effective customer service, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
o Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
o Flexible, self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
o Must be a team player.
o Consistent and regular attendance.
