WAGE RANGE: $33.230 TO $47.570 PER HOUR


POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Working to promote nursing excellence, quality patient/client-centered care and high professional standards, the Registered Nurse will be responsible for the assessment, nursing diagnosis, integrated care plan development, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. The objective of the Registered Nurse is to provide safe and competent care through the application of nursing knowledge, the technical aspects of professional practice and the demonstration of compassion, professionalism and respect. The incumbent will perform all other relevant duties assigned to ensure the efficient operation of the unit to which s/he is assigned. The successful candidate’s home site will be the Site listed above and must be willing to work at two or more sites. In the event there are no qualified candidates, this will be used as a training opportuntity.

QUALIFICATIONS:
ooCurrent registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
oTwo years related clinical experience in the past five years in an emergency environment.
oCurrent BCLS certification.
oACLS, PALS and TNCC certification preferred.
oEmergency Nursing certification (CNA) preferred.
oCanadian Triage and Acuity Scale training preferred.
oCurrent Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification.
oCertification in delegated controlled acts including; defibrillation, dispensing medication and application of energy.
oDemonstrated proficiency in IV Therapy Initiation, phlebotomy, cardiac monitoring/interpretation, and care of ventilated patients/clients.
oDemonstrated knowledge and skill in physical assessment (Physical Assessment Course preferred).
oDemonstrated ability to develop an integrated plan of care.
oDemonstrated knowledge of applicable legislation.
oCurrent knowledge of emergency nursing standards in accordance with the National Emergency Nurses Affiliation (NENA).
oIntegrates reflection, critical thinking, education and relevant practical experience in problem solving.
oApplies leadership skills by providing, facilitating and promoting quality patient care.
oDemonstrated commitment to patient and family education and the ability to promote health and wellness.
oApplies knowledge, skills, judgment and competencies required for safe, independent and inter-disciplinary practice by meeting nursing practice standards as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario and related professional associations.
oEvidence of accurate, timely and appropriate documentation according to best practice guidelines and CNO standards.
oApplies NHS values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and service.
oWorking knowledge of computers.
oConsistent and regular attendance required.
o Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
