The Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) has an exciting opportunity for a temporary, full-time Program Assistant III to work on the Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) team in the Environmental Health and Infectious Diseases division until August 2020. Schedules may vary based on availability.

Under the direction of the Manager, Vaccine Preventable Disease, the successful candidate will:
• Provide administrative support to the VPD team;
• Schedule appointments and meetings, and handle mail;
• Enter immunization records into a provincial immunization database data entry from multiple sources;
• Run routine reports, file documents, and complete other tasks related to record keeping;
• Perform program-based invoicing and reports to the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care as needed;
• Order necessary supplies and maintain team resources;
• Provide back-up coverage as needed for all other administrative roles within the VPD team;
• Participate in EHID division and VPD team meetings;
• Participate in Health Unit committees representing the VPD team and EHID division and;
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
• Secondary school graduate with an additional year of administrative studies;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in providing excellent customer service and work effectively with team members;
• Demonstrated ability to enter data into databases with a high level of accuracy and speed;
• Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office;
• Ability to balance changing priorities and competing work demands;
• Skills and experience in supporting teams and managers;
• Ability to work flexible hours;
• Experience in supporting client needs related to immunizations is considered an asset;
• Must have a valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle;
• Experience in supporting client needs related to immunizations is considered an asset;
• Experience with Ministry database applications such as Panorama is considered an asset;
• Communication proficiency (written and verbal) in French and/or any other languages is highly desirable.
