What we need:

We are seeking a dynamic, self-directed individual with exceptional leadership qualities to support excellence in clinical practice within our Medicine/Integrated Stroke Unit and Rehab at the Markham site,  while contributing to a strong organization-wide interprofessional practice environment. The role focuses on the education and clinical practice needs of our interprofessional team with just-in-time support provided.  Key areas of responsibility are clinical education, orientation and interprofessional practice leadership.  At the service/unit level this includes activities such as the planning, implementation and evaluation of our new hires, continuing education programs, practice change initiatives, policy and procedure development, as well as providing consultation regarding research based practice standards and professional development.


External capacity building exercises, close collaboration and integration with the interprofessional practice team, travel between sites(if necessary), and flexible working hours will be required.



Band H - $38.26 - $53.82

What you Bring to MSH:

Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing

  • Membership with the Registered Nursing Association of Ontario preferred
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing; Master’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years recent clinical experience in medicine with expertise in acute stroke and rehab
  • Evidence of leadership in clinical practice
  • Expertise in the delivery of formal and informal education/coaching
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles and teaching strategies
  • Expertise in planning/implementing and evaluating practice changes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, practice standards, and best practice guidelines
  • Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal and interprofessional collaborative practice, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proven abilities in complex analysis, critical thinking and problem solving
  • Proven evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Computer proficiency, preferably in MS office and Meditech EMR
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance record with the ability to maintain this same standard
  • Demonstrated commitment to a safe environment for staff, patients and families by working in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and related Hospital policies
