Up to 6 hours per week.  
Summary
The Lawrence Kinlin School of Business is building a roster of Part-time Case Writers. Successful candidates will be placed on a pre-approved roster. Writing assignments will be made to writers on the roster whenever business subjects are identified by the School. Multiple assignments are possible.  
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in relevant area preferred
- Focused college training or suitable undergraduate degree is required
- Minimum 3 years direct experience performing secondary research in the business field is required
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements
- Related information search experience will be considered
- Training in business writing, corporate communications, rhetoric or technical writing is preferred
- Training in a business function (strategy, marketing, HR, operations, sales) is preferred

INTERVIEWING
- Ability or experience meeting with a person to draw out a story
- Ability or experience recording salient information from an oral conversation
- Ability or experience capturing appropriate quotes from an interviewee
- Able to maintain a personable but professional rapport with C-suite executives or business owners

WRITING
- Should be able to write in a concise, but information-rich narrative style
- Able to sustain a storyline over 6 to 8 pages
- Must be able to adjust writing style for differing audiences
- Samples of writing may be required before an assignment is given
- Must be able to write/edit for brevity, accuracy, readability and clarity
- Should be able to respond to and cooperate with professional editorial direction

OTHER EXPERTISE
- Should have expertise in some functional area of business and management
- Direct experience with for-profit, non-profit and government organizations should be indicated
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to start, pursue and complete the assignment

EXPERIENCE
- Direct experience in writing cases is desirable but not required
- Direct experience using business cases in teaching is desirable but not required
- Direct experience in writing for a college audience is highly desirable
