Summary
Note: This is a full-time Administrative position (37.5 hours per week).

Duties: The Manager, Environment Health, Safety and Emergency Services Operations provides operational leadership and support related to the health, safety and well-being of the students, faculty staff and community members of Fanshawe College. Applying sound operational approaches, the Manager oversees a team that is responsible for the following areas: Fire Alarm operations, incident investigations, response support for the Security Control Centre, Emergency Plan resources and equipment, and the Emergency Management Annual Exercise. The Manager also acts as an internal liaison with other campus partners and is the primary contact for escalated 24//7 response support. Key to this role is accuracy to detail with respect to investigations and reports as well as strict adherence to the establishment and testing of critical operational plans.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Environment Health, Safety and Emergency Services, the Manager must be knowledgeable with legislation, regulations and standards at the Federal, Provincial and Municipal levels.
 
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary 3 year diploma/degree, preferably with a focus in Environment, Health and Safety or Emergency Management
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional, Fire Alarm Technician, or other related Emergency Management related designation required
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in a health and safety administrative role in a major health care, education, service industry (restaurant/ hotel), automotive, manufacturing or industrial sector
- Leadership experience required
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable legislation, codes, standards of practice and best practices
- Experience in fire and other life safety disciplines is an asset
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving and skills
- Communication, negotiations, facilitation and conflict resolution skills
- Crisis management skills
- Report writing/computer literacy
