At this time, we are seeking to fill the position of:Coordinator, Integrated Water Management

Summary of Functions

This position will coordinate and assist the development and implementation of programs and projects that further CVC’s objectives in the area of storm water management, watershed restoration, knowledge transfer, professional training and guidance, and new business models that improve organizational resilience.  This job’s key responsibilities include the coordination of CVC’s IWM Guidance & Training (IWM G&T) program which includes ongoing program development, CVC’s role within the STEP Water partnership, coordination and delivery of client contract work, assistance with the management of existing client/partner relationships and the development of new client/partner relationships.  In addition, this position will also assist in providing guidance, marketing, and education in support of LID project implementation across CVC’s watershed and Ontario.

Eligibility Requirements

Education & General Skills
  • College or University degree or training that encompasses environmental science, stormwater management – low impact development, communication and marketing, professional writing, public speaking and graphic design
  • Post graduate certificate in environmental engineering, landscape design or architecture
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience related to the major tasks
  • Practical experience in the coordination and development of guidance material
  • Practical experience in the development of training content (presentations, webinars, activities, field training)
  • Experience in the implementation and operations of stormwater management and low impact development
  • Practical experience in the coordination, development, and delivery of contract work
  • Experience promoting environmental issues and literacy an asset
Knowledge, Skills and Ability
  • Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe InDesign
  • Research, authoring, graphic development with a strong ability to synthesize technical information
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, coordinate the development of training manuals/guidance material and training content
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and collaboration skills with a variety of individuals, professionals, industry or business associations, community groups, municipal partners and elected officials
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet short deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and deliverable driven
  • Ability to self-manage with accountability and initiative
  • Ability to work in a team setting and in an adaptive environment where priorities may change or evolve
  • Knowledge in marketing, communications, and outreach
  • Sound knowledge in design, construction, and operation and maintenance processes for low impact development features would be considered an asset.
  • Strong background in environmental sciences, water resources, storm water management, and pollution prevention techniques
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, presentation and organizational skills
  • Willingness to travel within assigned area is required
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours during peak times

Summary of Major Tasks

Coordination of the Integrated Water Management Guidance and Training Program
  • Liaise and coordinate internally with CVC staff to support the delivery of IWM G&T program objectives
  • Represent IWM’s goals and objectives at project meetings
  • Coordinate and support the development and refinement of IWM G&T work plans
  • Coordinate staffing requirements to support delivery of IWM G&T work plan deliverables
  • Ensure tracking and records of staff time, communication, and financials are kept current, complete and managed with program partners, clients and internally within CVC
  • Coordinate, assess, and synthesize content and research into guidance and training materials.
Coordinate STEP Water Training Program (Knowledge Transfer)
  • Represent CVC’s goals and objectives at project meetings
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships and client relations
  • Assist in the coordination and delivery of various STEP Water training programs, including courses, webinars and tours
  • Record and edit webinars using WebEx or equivalent software
  • Develop and coordinate new training content
  • Coordinate and support the development and updating of the STEP MOU agreement
  • Coordinate the development and delivery of STEP Water accreditation/certification program
  • Coordinate STEP Water’s marketing sub-committee/working group
  • Conduct market research, and assess and react to partnership opportunities or competitive marketing strategies
  • Create, coordinate and assist in executing STEP Water marketing plan
  • Build an online marketing/advertising strategy to help drive customer acquisition, training sales and customer retention
  • Assist with the expansion of the STEP Water partnership and membership to additional members of Ontario’s 36 CAs
Coordination and delivery of client contract work
  • Coordinate development of MOU/agreements/service agreements between CVC and clients
  • Coordinate and support updates to contract work including: research, content development, editing, graphic development, photos, and videos
  • Ensure project responsibilities, objectives and deliverables outlined in the agreement between CVC and clients are being met by both parties
  • Assist in development, coordination, and delivery of client work plans
  • Support and coordinate cross promotional activities of clients and partners
  • Coordinate and track CVC staff time for client contracts
  • Develop, coordinate and issue invoices to clients
  • Verify, track and coordinate with the Finance Department accounts received
LID Implementation Support
  • Assist with implementation of LID community projects, including via the provision of outreach and education support
  • Develop and manage relationships with implementation partners to ensure project success
  • Implement project communications and marketing plans in partnership with CVC’s communications team
  • Provide guidance on LID maintenance, inspection, and operations to project partners
  • Coordinate amongst CVC departments as needed
  • Assist in developing and authoring content for LID Guidance such as the LID Planning and Design Guide
  • Assist in the delivery of CVC’s GRID project with authoring discussion papers, reports, and providing support with project objectives as needed
Work Conditions
  • This position generally works 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • The work related to this position will be situated primarily in an office environment
