Part Time/Sessional Contract
Centennial College’s School of Transportation is looking for one engaging Professor to teach courses both theory and labs within their Auto-body Post-Secondary & Apprenticeship Programs. Reporting to the Chair, the successful candidate will support students in reaching their learning objectives through class, lab and apprenticeship placements to reach their Diploma/Certificate program goals. The incumbents will also participate in program and course development, course modifications, program advisory committees, program accreditation, applied research initiatives, community outreach and on-going future program needs.

  • Provide and promote a respectful and supportive environment based on the principles of inclusion, equity and diversity

  • Remain current in technical knowledge and instructional delivery techniques
  • Attends meetings, maintains records of student grades/assessments, and participates in meetings and activities pertinent to faculty responsibilities


Note: Due to program expansion and year-round delivery of programs, this position may have teaching assigned through the summer and/or on Weekends.

  • Auto-body & Collision Damage Repairer Certificate Branch 1 (310B) in good standing is mandatory
  • Ozone Depletion Prevention Certificate in good standing is mandatory
  • Certification in Teaching of Adults an asset or equivalent training and/or experience in a trades-training context
  • Minimum five (5) years of recent progressive and relevant technical experience as a licensed Auto-body Collision & Damage Repairer & Painter
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise of current technologies that are found in auto-body refinishing, welding, body/frame structure & applied mechanical systems
  • Experience in course or learning materials development
  • Proven communication (written/oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate expectations for students regarding learning outcomes and the evaluation techniques to be used
  • Strong team player
  • Demonstrated understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion to meet the needs of our diverse students, staff and college community
  • Ability to manage a classroom and lab settings
  • Strong relationship and calibration with faculty and sport staff
  • Demonstrated creative and innovative thinking skills
