The IT Cloud Analyst serves as the primary internal resource for overseeing and maintaining the Cloud Assessment Framework processes and procedures. The incumbent will work closely with a wide variety of College stakeholders to ensure that initiatives and projects involving the acquisition and/or procurement of cloud solutions are conducted in accordance with the Cloud Assessment Framework.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the continual development, identification, and updating of the criteria required to analyse cloud services/vendors for the purposes of evaluating current IT solutions that might be eligible for migration to the Cloud, as well as providing recommendations in regards to the feasibility of acquiring/procuring new cloud services based on individual initiatives/project requirements
  • Develop, maintain, and administer the Cloud Assessment Questionnaire (CAQ) which is used to analyze College stakeholder’s requirements for the purpose of acquiring/procuring a cloud service. Develop, maintain, and administer the Cloud Vendor Assessment Questionnaire (CVAQ) which is used to analyze cloud vendors in a number of areas.
  • Based on information provided in the CAQ and CVAQ, incumbent will use a high degree of independent judgement to determine the risks and implications of using a particular cloud service
  • Develop, maintain, and construct the IT Cloud Service Assessment Report (ITCSAR) to clearly explain the finds and content of the CAQ, the CVAQ; and provide a recommendation based on the aforementioned information as to the risk level and areas of concern for a particular cloud service to College data owners and appropriate stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain a list of approved cloud services and vendors that is available to college community.
  • Identify and define roles, responsibilities, and skill sets required to support cloud technology
  • Analyze the impact cloud technology will have on current College resources, both from a technical and functional perspective and articulate the impact from the perspective of risk vs. benefit to the College to appropriate data owners and stakeholders.
  • Analyze the impact cloud technology will have on existing services and IT infrastructure, as well as optimizing service delivery for cloud services.
  • Identify the impact of integrating cloud services between themselves and with existing College systems.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Solutions Architects to investigate, determine, and recommend which IT systems/services/solutions currently on premise are potential candidates for migration to the Cloud
  • Collaborate with College stakeholders to determine and formalize cloud requirements and use cases, and ensure that the Cloud Assessment Framework continues to align with the College’s strategic initiatives, existing policies and procedures, and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program.
  • Collaborate with College stakeholders to identify individual cloud requirements based on the specifics of the initiative/project that’s being undertaken.
  • Coordinate with cloud vendors to ensure that services align with the identified needs of College stakeholders and Centennial technical and cyber security standards.
  • Provide Direction to College stakeholders and senior leadership in understand the correlations that underpin the use of cloud technology
  • Develop and implement awareness strategies for the Cloud and its corresponding elements
  • In collaboration with Centre for Organizational Learning and Teaching (COLT), develop educational and informational materials and reference documentation pertaining to the Cloud and aforementioned elements and ensure that they are made readily available to College stakeholders via Centennial Central and other applicable mediums.
Qualifications
  • A 3 year diploma or degree with a focus on business administration, ecommerce, and/or Computer Science
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a business analyst and/or systems analyst in information technology, together with experience in managing customer relationships and/or project coordination.
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office suite of software including Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Visio.
  • Familiarity with IT governance, risk assessment methodologies and frameworks, IT service management (ITSM/ITIL).
  • Experience creating detailed documentation such as policies, procedures, flow charts, system documentation, data flow diagrams, and reports.
  • Experience analyzing cloud services and vendors and using a variety of tools and processes to accomplish analysis
  • Familiarity with Eclipse Project Portfolio Management or other project management tool is an asset.
  • Experience communicating professionally and effectively with stakeholders and senior leadership, both in writing and verbally, with the goal of imparting information and obtaining decisions and/or directives.
  • Certificate for business analyst, business systems analysis, and/or cloud computing/strategy would be an asset.

Salary Range $34.01 - $39.41 per hour (Payband I)
