Position Summary
Information Technology Services
Under the general direction of the AVP IT, the Director, Enterprise Systems is responsible for planning, implementing, supporting, and managing IT enterprise solutions to support the implementation of the Centennial College Strategic Plan. The Director develops strong relationships with key clients throughout the College and leads a team of professionals to meet the business requirements of clients.
The Director provides senior level leadership in and has primary responsibility for strategic oversight of technology solutions that reflect the strategic plans of the college, including software, database technology, hardware platforms, and networks.
Business Systems and Support Services
  • Provide leadership and direction in developing information and technology architecture of the College including the development of business process models, requirements analysis, business cases and functional specifications, ensuring that government and third-party requirements are incorporated into solutions
  • Direct systems development teams to use the most efficient methodologies in meeting business requirements, and work with business users to ensure a collaborative environment that will produce the best solutions in the most effective way

Data Stewardship and Analytics Services

  • Provide leadership and guidance as a data steward for the institution in the development of data governance structures, data policies and procedures, and data dictionaries
  • Develop and implement plans to adopt technology that will support institutional data and business outcomes including the use of business analytics, business intelligence & reporting and data warehousing.

Enterprise Applications Management

  • Provide strategic guidance in the development of innovative solutions for business needs, strategic plan alignment, higher education industry trends and roadmaps for key partners.
  • Oversee solution design and consulting to support client solutions of varying scope from enterprise wide implementations to departmental systems


Leadership and Management

  • Coach, mentor, motivate and develop the Enterprise Systems team
  • Manage service delivery leveraging a service lifecycle methodology including performance measurement and continuous improvement
  • Manage projects through the project lifecycle in collaboration with the Project Management Office
  • Communicate broadly and deliver presentations to college wide committees and senior management
  • Directs the preparation and control of the operating budgets and revenue budgets for this area, to achieve objectives through the efficient and effective allocation of resources.
  • A master’s degree in business management or an IT related discipline
  • 8 - 12 years of progressive experience in technology management, including systems development and technology infrastructure roles
  • Experience with Cloud computing/elastic computing across virtualized environments.
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge of software, hardware and network solutions
  • An effective leader and mentor who can motivate staff, obtain consensus across the IT Division, and implement new enterprise systems in the most cost effective and timely manner that not only meet but exceed their expectations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and high level of personal integrity
  • Innovative thinking and leadership with an ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams
  • Specific experience in software development and best in class development practices.
