Future Opportunities for Casual, Part Time and Contract positions

SEIU Service Hourly Pay Rate: $29.7050 - $30.1857 

Baycrest provides care and service to approximately 2,000 people a day through a unique continuum of care system, ranging from wellness programs, residential housing and outpatient clinics, to a 472-bed nursing home, and a 300-bed complex continuing care facility with an acute care unit. Baycrest is a world-class leader in innovation in aging, with the acclaimed Rotman Research Institute, considered one of the premier brain institutes in the world, and the Kunin-Lunenfeld Applied and Evaluative Research Unit (‘KLAERU’), which supports clinical research and application of research findings directly to patient care.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Plans for, delivers and evaluates nursing interventions, including medications, as well as treatments which fall within the RPN’s scope of practice
  • Provides client-centered care within interdisciplinary care team to meet the personal care, activation, recreation and spiritual needs of a clients
  • Collaborates with the Registered Nurse to develop and revise the individualized care plan

Qualifications include but are not limited to:

  • Current registration, in good standing, from the College of Nurses of Ontario (‘CNO’) is required
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (‘BCLS’) certificate, Level C - Automated External Device (‘AED’) is required
  • Experience in gerontological nursing preferred
  • Experience in Complex Continuing Care, Rehabilitation, Palliative Care, or Mental Health preferred
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work in multiple areas
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills
  • Basic computer skills – Meditech, Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
