This ONDRI funded postdoctoral fellowship will be located in the Rotman Research Institute (RRI) is a premier international centre for the study of human brain function and the Department of Neuropsychology.

The Ontario Neurodegenerative Disease Research Initiative (ONDRI) is a multidisciplinary longitudinal research program funded by the Ontario Brain Institute (OBI) that is investigating the commonalities and distinctions amongst several neurodegenerative conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease and mild cognitive impairment (AD/MCI), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), frontotemporal dementias (FTD), Parkinson’s disease (PD), and vascular cognitive impairment (VCI). The ONDRI Neuropsychology postdoctoral fellowship position will start in May of 2019.  This one-year fellowship (with possibility of renewal, pending funding) will include traditional neuropsychology research (approximately 50% of time), as well as data science and data management responsibilities (approximately 50% of time). Depending on availability and the Fellow’s education, background, and goals, some clinical neuropsychology training opportunities (assessment and intervention) may also be available.  This fellowship is supervised by Drs. Brian Levine, Angela Troyer and Stephen Strother.


Candidates must submit the following material (1) Cover letter (1 page maximum) outlining prior research and clinical experience and confirmation of your intended start date; (2) updated CV; and (3) the names and contact information for 3 references.  All applications will be reviewed by the ONDRI Neuropsychological Committee, Research Committee, and Program Manager.  Only applicants selected for an interview will be notified.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Neuropsychology data management and analyses
  • Training study personnel on new ONDRI initiatives
  • Liaising with the Program Management and Neuroinformatics and Biostatistics teams
  • Manuscript writing
  • The fellow will also be part of the ONDRI Scholar’s program, which seeks to facilitate collaborative relationships amongst trainees and scientists affiliated with ONDRI


Qualifications include but are not limited to:

  • D. or equivalent degree with an emphasis on clinical neuropsychology
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Clinical experience in aging, dementia, stroke, and/or Parkinson’s disease
  • General knowledge in clinical study design, methodology, and quantitative statistical analysis
  • Good analytic and statistical skills; experience analyzing big data considered is an asset
  • Experience with data management and/or training personnel on data collection considered an asset
