Our residents and patients require assistance to enable them to continue to live their lives and fulfill their goals and daily activities. Our staff members work diligently with our clients and assist them in managing conditions common with aging such as physical (e.g. from ambulating independently to being wheel-chair bound), mental health, cognitive (from mild to severe including Dementia and Alzheimer) and stroke issues.



Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Feeding patients and residents of the hospital and long-term care home
  • Assisting patients and residents with activities of daily living, including personal, physical, psychological, social, and recreational needs
  • Supporting patients and residents to maintain their dignity, social, emotional and cultural well-being
  • Initiating and maintaining relationships with patients and residents and their family and other care providers

Qualifications (include but are not limited to):

  • Current enrollment in a clinical education program (e.g., nursing, personal support worker etc. program)
  • Completion of BCLS  is an asset
  • Ability to remain calm during emergency situations, and respond accordingly based on skill level
  • Must have the knowledge, skill, judgment and ability to work with patients and residents in an understanding, sensitive and compassionate manner
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Respects each patient or resident as an individual and is aware of his/her right to share in decisions about his/her care
  • Proven ability to perform work autonomously or as a team as work environment requires
  • Demonstrates effective problem solving skills
  • Positive public relation skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relations with residents and families
