Position Summary
Information and Communication Engineering Technology (ICET) Department
School of Engineering Technology & Applied Science (SETAS)
The successful candidate will be responsible to teach in a classroom, computer laboratory, online, and/or field settings and provide program support for course development, curriculum development, and on-going future program needs. The courses and certificate programs include; Computer Networking, PC Hardware and Software, Computer Operating Systems, Hypervisor/Virtualization, Storage Systems, Computer Forensics, Cyber Security, Network cabling & Fiber Optics, xDSL and FTTP – Fiber to the Premises, Cellular Networks, IT Ticket Management systems, VoIP systems. Teaching Contact Time: Monday to Friday evenings, Saturday and Sunday days; times subject to change
  • Teach using a variety of strategies to support student-centered learning.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal communication and knowledge of cultural competency in interactions with the public, colleagues, other professionals and students in internal and external educational and practice settings
  • Develop, revise and adapt appropriate learning resources for students
  • Evaluate student achievement of learning outcomes using a variety of techniques
  • Engage students to create a positive teaching and learning environment
  • Demonstrate an ability to work in a team-based work environment 
  • Use academic technology effectively to enhance and support learning
  • Provide and promote a respectful and supportive environment based upon the principles of inclusion, equity and diversity
  • Attend meetings and maintain records of student grades/assessments
  • Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Computer Engineering or Information Technology and industry experience in computer networks, storage & virtualization, cellular and wireless networks, Network Infrastructure, Information Systems and Information Technology. 
  • Previous teaching experience at the post secondary level is an asset
  • Industry experience with one or more of the following:
    • Computer Hardware & Operating Systems
    • Network & Cyber Security
    • Telephony & Converged Networks
    • Data Centre & Cloud Infrastructure
    • Wireless Networks; Cellular and WMAX
    • Servers, Storage Networks & Virtualization
    • LAN & WAN Technology and Network Infrastructure
  • Experience in course material development is an asset
  • Demonstrated competent written, oral and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team
  • Demonstrated understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion to meet the needs of our diverse students, staff and college community
