Sam & Ida Ross Memory Clinic has an opportunity for a



(6 months Contract)


75 bi-weekly hoursDays - Monday to Friday

(Shifts may be subject to change)

ONA Wage Rate: $32.21- $46.11


The Memory Clinic provides assessment and treatment programs for people suffering disturbances in cognitive function and behaviour due to brain dysfunction.  Problems may include memory loss, speech and language disorders, as well as cognitive deficits associated with psychiatric disorders such as depression.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provides sound clinical knowledge and skills, acts as clinical expert and resource and provides comprehensive, quality client/family centred health care services from admission, through transfers and discharge
  • Plans for, delivers and evaluates nursing interventions, including medications, as well as treatments which fall within the RN’s scope of practice
  • Provides client-centered care within interdisciplinary care team to meet the personal care, activation, recreation and spiritual needs of clients


Qualifications include but are not limited to:


  • Current registration in good standing from the College of Nurses of Ontario (’CNO’) is required
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (‘BCLS’) certificate, Level C - Automated External Device (‘AED’) is required
  • BScN required, Masters preferred
  • Experience working with clients with memory disorders due to neurodegenerative diseases required
  • Knowledge of memory disorders and dementia care required
  • Highly developed clinical assessment skills of clients with complex medical, cognitive and social required
  • Knowledge of brain anatomy and physiology
  • Psychogeriatric experience, including memory assessment and intervention in working with responsive behaviours required
  • Demonstrated ability to take professional accountability for leading, organizing, providing and delegating care activities for clients and families
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills
  • Computer skills – Meditech, Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
