The Rotman Research Institute at Baycrest has an opportunity for a
POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW – I FULL TIME
(2 Year Contract)
70.00 Hours bi-weekly – Non-Union
The Rotman Research Institute (RRI) is a premier international centre for the study of human brain function. The primary research focus is on memory and the executive functions of the brain, both in normal aging and in the presence of diseases and conditions that affect the brain, such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia. This fellowship is supervised by Drs. Lynn Hasher and Bradley Buchsbaum at the Rotman Research Institute in Toronto. The project centers on aging and memory, with special focus on the cognitive control and regulation of the contents of memory. Research will use both behavioural and neuroimaging methods to examine mechanisms important for the selection, suppression, and maintenance of information in memory. Requirements: a Ph.D. in Psychology or related field, with background in behavioural research and cognitive neuroscience. Experience with data analysis of functional neuroimaging is desirable. Interest in aging is also a plus.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Experimental design, data collection, manuscript preparation
- Neuroimaging analysis (MRI/fMRI)
- Multivariate analysis of imaging data
- Behavioural data collection and statistical analysis
- Communication of research at conferences.
Qualifications include but are not limited to:
- D., M.D. or equivalent degree with an emphasis on cognitive psychology and/or cognitive neuroscience.
- Experience in cognitive control, retrieval, and memory.
- Experience recruiting and testing research participants and patients
- Experience with MRI, EEG, or MEG data collection and analysis
